No one is exempt from witnessing a fire, and it can occur with a spark at home, a sudden gas leak, or a cigarette butt spreading the fire on a vacant lot.
These accidents can mostly be avoided, and although we are not professional brigades to combat them, here are some recommendations so that irreparable damage does not occur.
Best Tips To Avoid A Fire At Home
- Never leave candles burning overnight or unsupervised.
- Do not leave a fire or flammable products near children.
- Keep an eye on the hair straighteners or clothes, do not leave them connected and with nearby objects.
- Check plugs, electrical and gas installations regularly, and there should be no leaks or sparks.
- If you smoke, do it outdoors, not on beds or armchairs.
- Do not leave fabrics or rags near the stove.
- Do not connect multiple appliances to the same outlet.
- Do not use electrical appliances barefoot or on wet floors.
- Store flammable products such as gasoline, thinner, acetone, alcohol in well-sealed, and identified plastic cans.
Beware Of Gas Leaks In The House!
- If you smell gas, open windows and doors to ventilate and quickly call a technician, do not unplug or turn on anything that needs electric light.
- If you go on vacation, turn off the gas tap.
- The flame of the stove must be blue, and if orange predominates, there is a fault in the installation.
- Always watch what you cook; if the wind extinguishes the flame, the gas will escape.
Forest Fire Prevention
- Watch the gas and never light them under the trees and turn them off completely.
- Collect and take back all the garbage that is generated.
- Do not throw lit matches on roads, forests, and fields.
- It is positively forbidden to light bonfires, especially in the dry season.
- Put out and collect the cigarette butts; never throw them away.
- Report clandestine burning
- If there are remains of a burning campfire, throw water or sand on them.
- Obey the signs of zone restriction or temporary risk.
